I was first introduced to the world of music when I became a part of my elementary school choir and was encouraged by the director to audition for a solo. I do not remember the exact nature of the song or what it even was that I was singing, as I was only eight years old, but what I do know is that the experience itself changed my life forever.
Receiving compliment after compliment, I realized that singing was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I was quick to assemble my best friends, forming a musical group that would consume our lives from third to sixth grade: The Lucky Ducks.
With a toy keyboard in tow, my best friend and I got right to work on our first song, Surfin' On The USA in 2003.

Many other songs were yet to come as the Lucky Ducks grew to six members at its peak. We showcased our works of art at a concert which we held in a city park for our families; I remember that we did not charge admission, but we ran a snack bar using food that we had stolen from our families pantries and made $14.00 off of it.
That performance in the park was a golden point in my life. As the applause rang out after the closing of every song, the satisfaction I felt could not be matched.
So, naturally, when the craze of The Lucky Ducks went away, I continued on my own. I named myself "Kye", derived from my full first name, Kylie. First, I recreated every song that we had written together, recording them on six or seven CDs, as I would be dissatisfied with a previous recording as I grew older. The first of these CDs was never titled and recorded in 2004, and the final, titled Take Down, was recorded in 2007. The later CDs featured new songs that I had written myself as I grew and sought to expand my style. I also began incorporating instrumental music from the Sonic The Hedgehog series of games, writing lyrics to fit their rhythms.

Proud of my work and planning to do more, I was forced into a hiatus when my life was ravaged by depression and anxiety for the first time. I was in the eighth grade, with near to no friends anymore due to my rapid decline from social, bubbly girl dressed by my mother to antisocial, brooding teen who caked on more eyeliner than anyone should. I was alone, and I knew it, but I put forth next to no effort to befriend anyone because I simply did not care enough. I would be who I wanted to be, and if no one accepted me for it, then I did not mind.
During this period of my life, I was drawn to discover darker themed music: I began with Breaking Benjamin and Evanescence and eventually moved on to Within Temptation, Nightwish, and Epica by the end of my 9th grade year, 2009. This music spoke to me; it expressed and elevated all of my emotions and eventually alleviated most of my dark, depressive thoughts. I finally began to rise from my depression, and, in consequence and using my new-found musical interests as inspiration, I began to write music again in 10th grade. I also incorporated the name that I had found for myself around age 13 that I had developed for online identity: Laneth.
When I was sixteen, I took some of the better songs I had written to Sonic The Hedgehog music and rerecorded them in higher quality, with my new style of singing ever-present. However, the CD I was working on producing consisted of mostly either cover songs or material I made (poorly) myself, including the very first versions of My Rising Fall and Enmity. I also utilized the new Nightwish/Evanescence style of singing that I had picked up.

Yes, I picked out that shirt for a reason :)

I still had no means of creating my own full-scale music, so I simply resorted to writing lyrics and became busy singing covers on YouTube on my accounts LanethPrincess and LiikeTheAirr00 (both of which were eventually banned for copyright infringement...oops.) I covered mainly songs by Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica on these two channels. Everything on LanethPrincess (my first YouTube account that I used from 8th grade to 9th grade) was lost forever when it was banned, and almost everything on LiikeTheAirr00 (the channel that I used from 10th grade to my early Senior year in high school) was lost--almost.
I was able to save my recordings of Nightwish's Storytime, Epica's Linger, and the Les Miserables classic On My Own (all of which were recorded in November 2011) because I still happened to have the original videos saved onto my computer's hard drive. I created a new YouTube channel in late 2011, LiikeTheAirr01, and this is the channel that has brought me where I am now.
My rendition of Storytime is my most successful video to date, with currently over 60,000 views and 89% positive. It was through the reception to this video that I found new inspiration to once again focus my life almost completely on music.

It was not until I received an iPad as a graduation present Summer 2012 that the option of utilizing the GarageBand app to make my own music dawned on my mind. I immediately purchased the app and got to work. My first day with the app I finished Dysfunction. The next day I started and finished My Rising Fall, and, the next day, Caprica. I was creating music with a fiery inspiration I had not felt in years; the very act of creating this music was nostalgia at its fullest.
I continued to cover music and post it on my channel LiikeTheAirr01, but I had in mind something more. I needed a channel just for my original music: and thus, lalaneth was born. At this time it has nearly 1,500 video views. The mere fact that people are this interested in what I create is mesmerizing and wonderful to me.
After drafting and redrafting, I finally produced the melody and lyrics that I wished to sing, and sent them away to be mixed. The end result was more beautiful than I could have ever expected.
Fall Forever is the name of the song, and though it has slight mixing flaws, I am happy with it. And, evidently, so were the new audience that we have gained in these few short weeks.
Sadly, Atlantica fell inactive before the completion of our second song. A lot of delay and waiting took place, and then I finally decided to move on and work once more on my solo music.
Soon after Atlantica ceased to exist I began writing music based on my work-in-progress novel roboti:CHAOS: an endeavor I would go on to name Morotica. These songs, including Rise!, Remnants, and the Arcane Escapade have stretched my boundaries and taught me much about the processes of both songwriting and mixing.
Best wishes and amazing gratitude to all my friends and fans,
Laneth
In mid-September 2012, I was approached online by Valentyn Tkach, a guitarist and songwriter from Scotland, who was interested in starting an online project. It had never been an option for me to work with a band--since the Lucky Ducks had fell apart, I had always worked by myself, nix numerous collaborations I have participated in. At first, I was unsure, but as soon as I heard the demo song that I was to write words and lyrical melodies to, I was absolutely, completely sure that Atlantica was something that I wanted to do.
